THE IP LAW FIRM MODEL
Patent Filing & Prosecution
The new patent paradigm.
Re-thinking everything about the traditional law firm model, Invoke introduces a new paradigm for patent filing and prosecution.
Mr. Shah personally understands the needs of in-house counsel and the strategic value that in-house counsel add to the patent process. Mr. Shah built Edge IP on an un-paralleled two chair model that (a) maximizes the value of time in-house counsel spend on each case and (b) explicitly incorporates the strategic knowledge from in-house counsel early in the patent application drafting process. The model removes many of the process inefficiencies in traditional law firm models.
1. A highly specialized senior attorney drafts a full claim set in real-time during the initial invention disclosure meeting while a firm associate leads the discussion.
2. The in-house counsel and inventors provide feedback on the claims immediately following the discussion to ensure the claims are correctly focused and aligned with company strategy.
3. The firm associate then completes the draft of the patent application based on the claims discussed and approved by in-house counsel and inventors during the initial invention disclosure meeting.
